Manchester Football: Squires Take Care Of Business
SOUTH WHITLEY – Manchester took a 21-point lead into the second half and made it stand up in a 34-14 win at Whitko in Three Rivers Conference football.
Hayes Sturtsman had a big game for the Squires, throwing for 227 yards and three touchdowns and running for 70 yards and two scores.
Sturtsman found his favorite target, Trey Clark, for 157 yards and two of those strikes, and hit Parker Young on a 25-yard touchdown play. Among Clark’s payload was an 89-yard touchdown catch.
Delton Moore added 13 carries and 70 yards for the Manchester attack.
Leading the defense for the red and black was Nick Wagner and Cameron Sellers, who combined for 29 tackles.
Hunter Reed had the offensive star showing for the Wildcats, running for 116 yards on 17 carries and scored both Whitko touchdowns.
Ethan Howard led the Whitko defense with seven tackles and a sack, Zakk Neer had a sack and Mason Lehman made seven stops.
Manchester (2-5, 1-2 TRC) will host Rochester next week while Whitko (0-7, 0-3 TRC) will visit Northfield.
