Hoover Arrested On Meth Warrant, Faces New Charge
WARSAW — Alisha Rae Hoover, 29, 322 S. Washington St., Apt. 3, Warsaw, was arrested early today, Tuesday, Sept. 26, on a warrant for a charge for possession of meth, a level 6 felony, and faces an initial charge of possession of a syringe for legend drug. She is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on $10,500 surety and cash bond.
Charges were filed Monday, Sept. 25, in Kosciusko Circuit Court on the possession of meth charge. Official charges have not been filed on the possession of a syringe.
According to court documents Sept. 11, an officer met with a caseworker with the Department of Child Services regarding a home visit concerning the welfare of a small child. Officials went to the home of Sherry Lynn Gatke, 504 W. Center St., Warsaw.
Officials arrived at the residence and were invited in by Gatke, who told authorities the child was in a bedroom. When officials entered the bedroom they found the child in a high chair with Hoover. On the dresser, police observed a black scale in plain view with a crystal like residue on the surface of the scale. The white crystal was field tested, and tested positive for methamphetamine.
A search of the residence found smoking devices, residue from methamphetamine, marijuana, alprazolam and diazepam, which are schedule IV controlled substance, residue that tested positive for heroin, meth weighing 1.9 grams and three syringes.
Authorities also obtained cellphones of Gatke and Hoover as evidence, when they removed the cover from Hoover’s phone they found a plastic bag containing a white crystal substance that field tested positive for meth.
