LCA Soccer: Reimink, Calizo On Point
BREMEN – Anna Reimink and Tori Calizo each scored three goals to lift LCA to a 6-0 win over Bremen in girls soccer on a steamy Thursday night.
Reimink gave LCA a 2-0 lead just five minutes in with a pair of goal, deflating Bremen in just the third and fifth minutes. Reimink got her third goal in the 63rd minute.
Calizo scored her first two in a bunch as well, finding paydirt in the 20th and 23rd minutes. Her hat trick was solidified in the 56th minute.
LCA didn’t have any trouble spreading the love around, taking 31 shots to Bremen’s five and earned eight corner kicks in the match.
Maddie Paris notched the shutout, stopping all five of Bremen’s attempts.
“I love the way the team bounced back after a heartbreaking loss on Tuesday losing the game in the last minute,” said LCA skipper Nat Raber. “Bremen played with a high line trapping us offside 12 times, but it was a double-edged sword as we had quite a few breakaways and scored on five of them. We had more chances that we didn’t capitalize on, but I am not disappointed at all with our effort and the result.
“Once again, Maddie Paris stepped up great with our starting keeper, Brady Gross, out with an injury. Jess Slone had a great game for us as well filling in for Cristel Vindel who wasn’t able to play either. I am impressed with how they handled the heat especially with a short bench.”
LCA (4-5) is home Saturday versus Maconaquah, an 11 a.m. start.
