Rogers And Rhodes Arrested On Meth Charges
WARSAW — Charges have been filed against John Verner Rogers, 29, 102 W. Noah St., Claypool, and Gabriel Samuel Rhodes, 22, 1203 1/2 E. Smith St., Warsaw, after selling methamphetamine to an individual Sept. 18.
Rogers has been charged with two counts of dealing in methamphetamine, one a level 3 felony, the other a level 4 felony; and two counts of possession of methamphetamine, one a level 5 felony, and one a level 6 felony. He is being held on $20,250 surety and cash bond.
Rhodes has been charged with two counts of aiding in dealing in methamphetamine, one a level 3 felony, the other a level 4 felony; and possession of methamphetamine, a level 5 felony. His bond was also set at $20,250 surety and cash.
Court documents state Sept. 15 an individual met with Rogers to purchase methamphetamine. Rhodes was present during the purchase and the driver of the vehicle used to make the drug deal. The buyer was given $225 for 4 grams of meth.
Undercover officers then met with Rogers, in which Rhodes was again present and driver of the vehicle, to purchase more meth Sept. 18. The undercover officer paid Rogers $400 for 8 ounces of meth. Rhodes was present with Rogers at the time of the purchase.
Following the transaction, a vehicle stop was conducted and during the search of the vehicle an additional 5 grams of meth was located in the vehicle. Rhodes was found to have the $400 in his possession that was used to purchase the drug earlier.
