Triton Sports Wrap: Sept. 19
Volleyball
Triton’s volleyball team lost a close four-setter with Hoosier North Athletic Conference foe Winamac Tuesday, 25-20, 23-25, 25-20, 25-23.
Nicole Sechrist finished with 16 kills, and Lexia Hostrawser tallied 10 in a bit of a breakout match. Sechrist also finished with four solo blocks, while Alyxa Viers and Emma Ross finished with 23 and 13 digs, respectively. Hannah Wanemacher set 17 assists, and Ross recorded four aces for the Lady Trojans.
Winamac’s JV also topped Triton, 25-16, 25-16.
The Trojans head back into HNAC play Thursday at LaVille.
Tennis
Triton’s boys tennis team lost a 4-1 road meet at Manchester Tuesday.
The Trojans’ lone win was at two doubles, where Tyler Heckaman and Jared Bules battled back to beat Kam Lester and Quinn Martin via super tiebreaker, 1-6, 6-4, 12-10.
Spence Trick topped John Gardner 6-3, 6-0 at two singles, Luke Donathan won his one singles match with Carter Kuntz, 6-0, 6-2, and Kyle Shepard beat Trevor Miller, 6-0, 6-0 at three singles in a sweep of the singles courts. Parker Wagoner and Logan Parrett claimed a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Keygan Mosier and Chase Butler at one doubles as Triton slipped to 9-8. Manchester improved to 7-4.
Manchester’s JV also beat Triton 2-0.
