Roger D. Sprague
Roger D. Sprague, 67, Butler, formerly of Ligonier, passed away at 1:11 p.m., Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at DeKalb Hospital surrounded by family in DeKalb. He was born on Oct. 10, 1949, to Adrian and Orpha (Weade) Sprague at Lucky Hospital in Wolf Lake,.
Roger was a life-long resident of Ligonier. He worked for many years for Corbin Tools in Syracuse. Roger did not mind working. He also held a position in Construction helping to remodel homes. In his earlier years, he really enjoyed being a member of the American Legion Post – 243 in Ligonier. An avid IU fan, he spent countless hours making sure his team was doing great. In recent years, he was considered to be a very Lucky B-I-N-G-O player. He managed to win almost every match at the nursing home.
Surviving are his two daughters, Anita (Kevin) Courtright, Amy (Joey) Weaver; six grandchildren; Timothy Musser, Bryan Sprague, Cody Kerr, Joey Weaver Jr., Cole Weaver, and Caleb Weaver; and siblings, Darlene Sprague, Marlene Riley, Harold Sprague, and his ex-wife Rosemary Musser whom he kept a strong friendship with.
Mr. Sprague was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Allen Sprague, Stanley Sprague, and Richard Sprague.
A funeral service will be held in Roger’s honor at 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 23, at Yeager Funeral Home – 1589 Lincolnway South Ligonier, IN, 46767. Pastor John Lutton will officiate. Burial will take place at Oak Park Cemetery following the service.
Family and friends will be received from 1p.m. to 5p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23 at Yeager Funeral Home.
