ATWOOD — Kosciusko County officials are currently investigating a motor vehicle traffic crash on CR 650N near CR 700W near Atwood. The male driver of the vehicle sustained fatal injuries, and a male passenger sustained injuries in the crash.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies and emergency personnel responded 1:01 p.m. Sept. 17, to a reported single vehicle rollover crash. The crash involved an eastbound 1994 GMC Jimmy traveling off the northern edge of the roadway. The operator of the GMC overcorrected traveling across the roadway and rolling into a field off the northern edge of the roadway.
Driver Cameron A. Scarberry, 16, Etna Green, was found unresponsive in the 1994 GMC, and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office. A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Jared Scarberry, 13, Etna Green. Jared Scarberry sustained multiple injuries from the crash and was transported to Parkview Hospital Fort Wayne for treatment where he is in stable condition.
Officers stated that the crash is still currently under investigation. The Kosciusko County Fatal Team was assisted at the scene by members of the Atwood Fire Department, Lutheran EMS, the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
