Triton Junior Loses Life In Car Accident
BOURBON — Cameron Scarberry, a Triton High School junior, lost his life in a single-car accident Sunday afternoon outside of Atwood.
Details of the accident have not yet been officially released. A Gofundme account has been started to help pay for funeral expenses.
The Triton football team is requesting privacy in the wake of the accident. Scarberry was a two-way starter for the Trojans.
“The Scarberry family, Triton community and Triton football team would like to give the Scarberry family some privacy and time with each other alone to grieve for their loss and suffering in wake of this tragic accident,” the Triton Football Facebook page read Sunday. The post went on to say that the school would be open at 5 p.m. for those who would like to grieve with Scarberry’s family and Cameron’s teammates.
Scarberry is listed at middle linebacker and guard with the Trojans. He was credited with 24 total tackles and a fumble recovery on Maxpreps. He was also a member of Triton’s wrestling team.
