GWMA Hosts Prayer Session
WARSAW — Around 35 people attended a prayer, hosted by the Greater Warsaw Ministerial Association, this evening, Sept. 10, at the 9/11 memorial in Center Lake Park, Warsaw. GWMA has been hosting prayers for America since Sept. 11, 2012.
Pastor Ken Locke, GWMA director, stated before the prayer that he began receiving requests for a prayer session after the unfortunate events of Charlottesville, Va. Since those requests, the country has seen hurricane Harvey hit Texas and is now experiencing hurricane Irma after it devastated several Caribbean islands. Prayers were sent up to those effected by the tragedies.
Locke said after the prayer that his wish is for Kosciusko to become a county of prayer. He referenced Billy Sunday and Billy Graham, stating that he hopes a third revival will come from the area.
“Revival begins with me,” Locke said, stating that revival begins with an individual at home and not with the government. “[Revival] is going to come from all of us getting on our knees and saying ‘God, something has to change in this country.'”
Prayers included those for family, church, government, first responders, military, for those who suffer abuse and unity. Those who joined the prayer include Pastors John B. and Debbie Lowe of New Life Christian, Pastor Rich Maron of Calvary Tabernacle and Mike Cox, formerly of Warsaw Police Department.
After the prayer, the session was concluded with Pastor Debbie Lowe leading the group in singing God Bless America.
GWMA will also be hosting a prayer tomorrow morning, 8:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 11, with a moment of silence at 8:45 a.m. to honor when the first plane hit the World Trade Center.
