Six Bids Received For Third Warsaw-Wayne Fire Station
WARSAW — Six bids were received this morning, Sept. 8, by Mayor Joe Thallemer in a special meeting held at Warsaw City Hall. City treasurer Lynne Christiansen and Warsaw-Wayne Fire Chief Michael Wilson were also present to hear the bids.
The bids will be taken under advisement and the award will be made at the Board of Works meeting one week from today, 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15 in the council chambers at Warsaw City Hall.
Chief Wilson and Mayor Thallemer both said they were satisfied with having received six bids given the busy construction season.
The bids received offered a base bid, nine alternates and two unit prices. An explanation of the alternates and the units will follow. For information regarding original budget plans, click here.
The bids are as follows:

Alternate 2: Add, provide third apparatus bay, shall include standing seam roof system and all associated work.
Alternate 3: Add, provide standing seam roof system on base bid with standing seam metal roof system on dorms and all associated work.
Alterate 4: Add, provide standing seam metal roof system on three apparatus bay with standings seam metal roof on dorms and all associated work.
Alternate 5: Deduct, provide asphalt roof for storage building and outdoor pavilion in lieu of standing seam metal roof system.
Alternate 6: Add, provide asphalt shingled roof system on two apparatus bay with standing seam metal roof system on dormers.
Alternate 7: Add, provide asphalt shingled roof system on three apparatus bay with standing seam metal roof system on dormers.
Alternate 8: Add, provide fiber cement board siding in lieu of vinyl siding and all associated work.
Alternate 9: Add, provide tile showers in lieu of fiberglass with associated plumbing changes and all associated work.
Unit Price No. 1: Unsuitable soil excavation: Unit price includes cost per cubic yard for undercutting, hauling and legally disposing of unsatisfactory soil material off-site.
Unit Price No. 2: Import satisfactory fill: Unit price includes cost per cubic yard for all work required to excavate, haul, work to optimum moisture content, backfill and compact in place satisfactory fill as defined in the earthwork specification from off-site.
