Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
7:21 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, South CR 450W, west of West CR 525S, Burket. Drivers: Chandler T. Newsome, 17, West Kiwi Road, Claypool, and Rachel G. Parker, 41, West CR 600S, Claypool. Newsome turned too wide onto West CR 525S, hitting the Parker vehicle head one. Damage up to $10,000.
2:34 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, South CR 400W, south of West CR 200S, Warsaw. Driver: Todd A. Hartle, 51, South CR 400W, Warsaw. A large branch feel out of the tree hitting Hartle’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
1:07 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, South CR 780W, Warsaw. Driver: Matthew D. Hume, 16, South CR 780W, Mentone. Hume was backing down the driveway and heard screaming, stopped and found Eli Swick, 4, North Side Drive, Warsaw, pinned under the vehicle. Swick complained of pain to the chest. Damage under $750.
4:29 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, East US 30, west of East CR 200N, Warsaw. Drivers: Dustin N. Sorensen, 28, South Maple Grove Lane, Warsaw, and Peter J. Baumann, 40, East Monroe Street, Decatur. Sorensen began to change lanes as Baumann was attempting to pass Sorensen’s vehicle, sideswiping the Baumann vehicle. Baumann cited for driving without a license. Damage up to $5,000.
Milford
Officers with the Milford Police Department investigated the following accidents:
7:22 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, North CR 200E, north of East Mock Road, Milford. Driver: Kaylyn M. Melching, 28, North CR 200E, Milford. Hit deer. Damage up to $1,000.
5:43 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, East Fourth Street, south of North Shaffer Street, Milford. Drivers: Danielle L. Beer, 28, Alexis Drive, Milford, and Jamie D. Powers, 32, North Old SR 15, Milford. Powers failed to see the Beer vehicle before entering into the intersection. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
11:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, East Market Street and South McKinley Street, Warsaw. Driver: Leanna N. Sauer, 31, South Morton Street, Warsaw. Sauer allegedly fell asleep while driving, crossed the roadway and hit a light post. Damage up to $5,000.
12:59 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, Lake City Highway, west of North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Callie A. Gordon, 22, US 6, Syracuse, and Miranda G. Minear, 36, West Old Trail Road, Columbia City. Gordon’s vehicle sideswiped the Minear vehicle as she attempted to pass on the right. Damage up to $5,000.
7:12 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, West US 30 and North CR 150W, Warsaw. Drivers: Paul J. Westberg, 40, West Old Road 30, Warsaw; Shannon J. Ruby, 49, North Airport Road, Columbia City; Paula M. Pierucki, 54, South Bruner Road, Warsaw; and Stephanie L. Mikel, 27, South Country Club Road, Warsaw. Pierucki complained of back pain but refused medical treatment. Westberg made a left turn in front of the westbound Ruby vehicle. Westberg’s vehicle then struck the stopped Pierucki vehicle and Ruby’s vehicle struck the stopped Mikel vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
5:23 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, Wooster Road and South CR 250E, Winona Lake. Drivers: Sandra L. Shuter, 56 South Packerton Road, Warsaw, and Kylie D. Skaggs, 25, Western Drive, Winona Lake. Shuter complained of pain to her right knee. Both drivers came to the four-way stop and failed to see each other, proceeding into the intersection at the same time. Damage up to $5,000.
