Syracuse Redevelopment Moves Forward On New TIF District
SYRACUSE — The Syracuse Redevelopment Commission approved a declaratory resolution to create a new Tax Increment Finance district during a meeting Thursday, Aug. 31. The new TIF district will encompass the entire technology park located near SR 13 and US 6.
The next step will be for the resolution to go before the Koscuisko County Area Planning Commission for approval. Henry DeJulia, town manager, said he expects the planning commission to act on the resolution at its September meeting.
Once the area planning commission approves of the resolution, it comes back for a confirmational resolution which will require a public hearing to be held on the matter.
Currently the technology park is located in an existing TIF district called the Benton Township TIF which covers industrial areas near the park.
