Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
7:38 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, West CR 400N and North SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Michael R. Shapiro, 56, East Autumn Trail, Warsaw, and Jesse W. Ferguson, 61, Heron Boulevard, Warsaw. The vehicle driven by Shapiro struck the back of the Ferguson vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
9:29 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, West CR 1350N, east of North CR 950W, Nappanee. Driver: Myron L. Troyer, 22, CR 20, Middlebury. Injured: Debra E. Miller, West CR 1350N, Nappanee, a passenger in the buggy, complained of pain to the head and shoulder. She was taken to Goshen Hospital. Troyer was eastbound on CR 1350N and attempted to pass the horse drawn buggy, operated by Steven L. Miller, West CR 1350N, Nappanee, when the buggy turned left into a driveway causing Troyer’s vehicle to hit the buggy. The horse suffered a broken leg and was put down at the owner’s request. Damage up to $10,000.
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, SR 15 and East Canal Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Mark A. Bragg, 56, Chapman Lake Drive, Warsaw, and Cierra B. Busenbark, 21, East CR 725S, Warsaw. The two vehicles sideswiped. Damage up to $1,000.
4:55 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, South Union Street and Lakeland Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Raymond Long, 80, East Jefferson Street, Warsaw, and Riley W. Hogenson, 18, West CR 250S, Warsaw. Long was backing from Lakeland Drive onto South Union Street, and his vehicle was struck by the Hogenson vehicle which had just turned off South Union onto Lakeland Drive. Damage up to $2,500.
2:49 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, US 30 and North CR 150W, Warsaw. Drivers: Fermin N. Ayala, 23, Sue Avenue, Warsaw, and Juliana A. Hackworth, 47, South CR 400W, Warsaw. Ayala’s vehicle struck the back of the Hackworth vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
