Kevin Thomas Jackson
Kevin Thomas Jackson, 56, a lifetime resident of Columbia City, died at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017 at Renaissance Village where he had been a resident since April 2016 after a two year battle with renal cancer and various other medical issues.
He was born July 14, 1961, “the day that will go down in infamy” in Columbia City a son of Glenn T. and Betty Faye (Taulbee) Jackson. He attended Mary Raber and Marshall Middle School. He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1979.
Kevin enjoyed working with family and friends at Kroger for 33 years.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Hannah Jackson Amahda of Indianapolis; a grandson, Reme; three younger brothers, Kirk (Dorene) Jackson of Columbia City, Chris (Bev) Jackson of Columbia City and Kent (Julie) Jackson of Fort Wayne; many nieces, nephews and friends.
His parents preceded him in death.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. The visitation will be from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to Heartland Hospice or Oak Grove Church of God.
