Kenneth Young
Kenneth Young, age 78, was called home by the Lord at 11:45 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017 at his residence, because he was done with him here on Earth. Kenny felt he had lived a full and blessed life and praised God for the time he gave him on this earth, and especially for all the love he shared with so many people during his days on earth. It is his desire that you would set aside your grief and celebrate his new and much better eternal life. He was victorious over his cancer when the Lord took him home.
Mr. Young was born October 9, 1938 in Nappanee to Clarence and Gertrude (Copehhaver) Young. He was a 1956 graduate of Nappanee High School and served in the United States Army during the VietNam Conflict. He was stationed at the Clark Air Base in the Phillipines and was a teletype operator. He was a lifetime Nappanee-Bremen area resident.
On November 23, 1963 he married Nora Kathleen Pfeiffer
Mr. Young was a farmer and had driven truck for North Central for 15 years. He enjoyed going to fairs and showing cattle with his children at the Elkhart County 4-H fair. He was a member of Hepton Union Church, where he had served as superintendent, trustee, and Sunday School teacher.
Presently he was attending Bremen Missionary Church. Mr. Young loved the Lord, his family and friends. He believed in prayer, miracles, and angels. Prayer meeting groups and Sunday School were the most important part of church to him. Kenny had many thoughts about church, he believed that the first song in a service set the tempo for the remainder of the service. He did not believe in guitars or drums being used in the church, they belonged in Nashville. It was his belief that the old hymns should be sung with a piano or organ. He believed every congregation should use their talents and gifts. He believed in prayer – he had so many answered. He had so many friends from all walks of life, as well as around the world, he was thankful for all of them and he believed it was important to discuss the bible with them. He believed there was a mansion, not a room in Heaven for him..
