TinCaps Baseball: Playoff Tickets On Sale Today
FORT WAYNE – The TinCaps are prepared to appear in the Midwest League’s postseason for the eighth time in nine years, striving to win the title like in 2009. With the regular season winding down now, fans have an early opportunity to make sure they don’t miss out on exciting playoff baseball at Parkview Field.
The TinCaps are in line to play at home on Thursday, Sept. 7 (7:05 p.m. first pitch). Like during the regular season, it’ll be a Thirsty Thursday, featuring $1 domestic drafts and other drink specials.
Tickets for the playoff game at Parkview Field will go on sale beginning Thursday, Aug. 24 at 9:00 a.m. Playoff tickets will be available for fans to purchase at TinCapsTickets.com, by calling 260-482-6400, and at the Parkview Field Ticket Office.
The opening round of the Midwest League Playoffs is a best-of-three series format. Fort Wayne is expected to open on the road, Wednesday, Sept. 6.
If necessary, the TinCaps will play Game 3 at Parkview Field on Friday, Sept. 8. If the TinCaps advance out of the first round, they’ll host either the West Michigan Whitecaps (Detroit Tigers) or Dayton Dragons (Cincinnati Reds) in the best-of-three Eastern Division Championship Series on Saturday, Sept. 9. Led by some of the San Diego Padres’ top prospects, the TinCaps have been surging in the second half of the season with a 35-22 record (as of Aug. 22) since the All-Star break.
Before the playoff action begins, the TinCaps still have three regular season home games remaining. The team is back at Parkview Field Wednesday, Aug. 30, Thursday, Aug. 31, and Friday, Sept. 1 against the Great Lakes Loons (Los Angeles Dodgers). Fireworks are set to follow the games on both Thursday and Friday. Thanks to Waynedale Grooming, Jake the Diamond Dog will be at Friday’s regular season finale, too.
Note: In the event the TinCaps don’t host a playoff game on Sept. 7, ticket purchasers will be refunded. Season ticket holders will receive a credit toward the 2018 season.
