Fundraiser Planned For Assault Victim
GOSHEN — A fundraiser is being held for a Syracuse family whose 4-year-old daughter was sexually assaulted.
Friends of the family are planning a garage sale and hot dog sale in an effort to raise money to assist the family with counseling expenses.
The fundraiser will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, Friday, Sept. 1 and Saturday, Sept. 2. The event will take place at 601 East Jefferson Street, Goshen.
Black and purple “Justice for Baylee” bracelets will be sold for $5 at the fundraiser.
The 4-year-old attends weekly counseling sessions due to the mental and physical distress she has suffered since the assault.
Baylee and her family will be present at the fundraising event. Her mother explained that the intent is to come together and show support, stating, “We just want her to know that there are people who care about her.”
Anyone who would like to help with the event may donate money, garage sale items, hot dogs or buns. Items may be dropped off at the above address or arrangements can be made for the items to be picked up.
