Wawasee Basketball: Girls Program Hosting Kids League
SYRACUSE – The Wawasee girls basketball program is looking for girls in first through third grades to participate in a basketball league.
The league, which will play on Saturday afternoons beginning Sept. 9 through Oct. 7, will play at either Wawasee Middle School or at Wawasee High School. Each team will be supervised/coached by an adult and/or high school player. Each game session will last 90 minutes with the first 30-45 minutes reserved for practice of fundamentals.
The cost per player is $40 with each additional girl from the same family only $20 thereafter. No child will be turned away due to a lack of resources. Please email Carly Everingham if financial assistance is needed.
The program will hold a skills test on Thursday, Aug. 31, from 6:15-7:30 p.m. at Wawasee High School. (Annex Gym – enter door 7). Players can arrive anytime during this timeframe. Girls will go through stations to help determine their skill levels in an effort to balance teams. Once a girl has completed the stations, she can leave.
