LCA Soccer: Cougars Start On Right Foot
WINONA LAKE – Lakeland Christian Academy began its boys soccer season in style Friday night with a 5-0 win over Community Baptist of South Bend.
Garrett McCoomb got LCA in the scoring column first with a strike assisted on a long ball from back by Elijah Raymond. Garrett McKeever and Patrick Stewart added first half goals, Stewart picking up the assist on the McKeever tally.
An own goal and another Stewart winner wrapped up the second-half scoring.
The Cougars outshot Community Baptist 20-9 and had 13 of their attacks on target. Remington Swanson picked up the shutout in net, making four saves for the clean slate.
LCA (1-0) will turn right around for a Saturday match at home against Rochester.
