Warsaw Tennis: Tigers Post Win In Opener
HUNTINGTON – The season started on a winning note for the Warsaw boys tennis team Wednesday night.
Coach Rick Orban’s group posted a 4-1 win over host Huntington North in the opener.
The Tigers got a pair of dominating wins on the two doubles courts to highlight the victory.
The No. 1 doubles team of Spencer Britton and Nolan Knight posted a 6-1, 6-0 win to pace the Tigers. The duo Kyler Bartol and Reuben Williams notched a 6-1, 6-3 victory on the No. 2 doubles court.
Bailey Buhrt collected a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles and Caleb Williams posted a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles action for the Tigers.
Auden Eckert of Huntington North outlasted Colton Lind 6-1, 4-6, 7-5 at No. 1 singles play.
Warsaw won the junior varsity action 5-2. Brandon Chan won in singles play for the JV Tigers. Winning in doubles action for Warsaw were the teams of Hayden Anderson and Brian Elliott, Nick Rata and Garrett Rodgers and Jarett Orr and Kanton Waddle.
Warsaw (1-0) hosts Penn on Thursday evening.
