Boys tennis
Triton’s tennis team earned its second win in as many days with a big 3-2 Hoosier North Athletic Conference victory over Knox Wednesday.
Freshman John Gardner picked up his first win at two singles in dramatic fashion, outlasting Knox’s Zac Eby in a 12-game third set to cap a 6-3, 1-6, 7-5 win that pushed the Trojans over the top against the defending HNAC champs.
Keygan Mosier and Chase Butler combined for a 6-1, 6-3 win over Jake Kreuger and Ethan Cooper at one doubles, and Tyler Heckaman and Jared Bules beat Clint Stacy and Devan Himes, 6-1, 6-4 at two doubles as Triton moved to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.
In JV action, Triton tied Knox 1-1.
Volleyball
Triton’s volleyball team suffered a lopsided three-game loss to Mishawaka Wednesday night, 25-19, 25-3, 25-7.
Nicole Sechrist recorded seven kills, and Hanna Wanemacher registered 10 assists. Emma Ross finished with 10 digs, and Sydney Musilli tallied nine.
Triton’s JV fell 25-6, 25-13 to Mishawaka.
The Lady Trojans host Oregon-Davis tonight at 6 p.m. ET.
