WARSAW — JDF Development broke ground on Monday, Aug. 14, in front of Meijer on Lake City Highway in Warsaw, marking the start of construction on the retail shopping center to be named Lake City Plaza.
A press release issued by JDF Development states that the plaza will feature nationally recognized businesses, including a free-standing McAlister’s Deli and a second building that will contain Moe’s Southwest Grill, Verizon Wireless and a Starbucks. To the excitement of many, the Starbucks will feature a drive-thru window.
“JDF Development spent over $1 million to purchase two parcels from Meijer for this development, closing on the property August 7, 2017. This 12,408-square foot retail development brings new national tenants McAlister’s Deli and Moe’s Southwest Grill to Warsaw. Additionally, due to the strong traffic in the area, Verizon Wireless will be relocating to Lake City Plaza from another location in Warsaw, and Starbucks will open its second location in the market,” states the press release.
Construction is set to be completed by early 2018 with businesses able to open in the spring. The project is being financed by Lake City Bank.
The release notes that the retail shopping center is fully leased with no additional availability.
