Syracuse Man Arrested For Taking Father’s Vehicle
SYRACUSE — Sean Adam Dada, 33, 8164 East Sunrise Drive, Syracuse, was arrested Monday afternoon, Aug. 14, on charges of auto theft, a level 6 felony and failure to stop after a vehicle accident, a class B misdemeanor. He is being held on $21,500 surety and cash bond in the Kosciusko County Jail.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department was called on June 27, to the Dada residence. Aujam Dada told police his 2013 Cadillac XPS was stolen by his son, Sean Dada, who had been told he was not allowed to drive the vehicle. Police learned early that morning Sean Dada forced or broke his way into his father’s locked room and locked desk to get the keys to the vehicle.
Additionally, authorities were advised that Whitley County Sheriff’s Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but Sean Dada fled, which resulted in his arrest and impoundment of the vehicle. When Aujam Dada retrieved the vehicle it had significant damage allegedly from striking a mailbox.
Police had responded to two different reports of mailbox damages in a neighborhood that Sean Dada would have had to drive past. One of the mailbox owners, Richard Pfleger estimated between $750 to $1,000 damage to his mailbox.
