WARSAW – Rudy’s Dog Park is hosting its fifth annual Dash for the Dogs event, a 5K run/walk, on Saturday, Sept. 9. Dash for the Dogs will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Rudy’s Dog Park, at the corner of 300 N and 100 E., in Warsaw.
Registration will be on-site Saturday starting at 8:15 a.m., with a cost of $30 the day of the event. Pre-registration costs $25 with a deadline of Aug. 25, this deadline includes a Dash for the Dogs 2017 shirt and gift bag. Race day shirts are not guaranteed if not pre-registered by this date. If participants, and their dogs, would like to be timed for the event the registration deadline is Sept. 4. Cost for dogs is $1. Participants are welcomed and encouraged to bring their dog to run or walk too, but it is not required to participate. All dogs must be on a leash, have dog ID and be current on their rabies vaccine.
This is a KRA chip-timed event for those who want to compete. Prizes will be given for first, second and third overall male and female and first, second and third male and female age group winners. Dog prizes also will be given.
Multiple vendors will also be exhibiting at the Dash for the Dogs event and canine officers and their handlers will be giving demonstrations starting at 8:30 a.m. Among the vendors, will be area dog rescue groups and organizations to share information about and promote pet adoptions.
Rudy’s Dog Park is a not-for-profit organization that was organized and founded to build and operate a dog park serving Warsaw and the surrounding Kosciusko County community. It is open from dawn to dusk every day for members; to become a member go to our website for an application.
