Norman Patrick ‘Pat’ Keller
Norman Patrick “Pat” Keller, 82, Culver, died Wednesday, Aug 9, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor,
Culver, surrounded by his loved ones.
Pat was born March 17, 1935 in Culver, to the late Lloyd and Alice (Watson) Keller. In June 1968, he joined
lives and adventures with Marilyn Hudkins and together they raised two children and were blessed with eight
grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She preceded him in death in 1997.
Pat was a hard-working farmer for most of his life…when it wasn’t deer season! After his retirement in 1980 he
began his second love – construction. He was part-owner of 4-Way Construction for many years, with his office
being the front seat of his truck. When Pat finally decided to kick back and relax and retire for good, he enjoyed
his two gardens (because what single man DOESN’T need TWO gardens chock full of assorted vegetables) and
then canning and freezing his bounty, and sharing the surplus with neighbors and friends.
Pat had many hobbies in his long, full life, including hunting, fishing, raising deer, peacocks, and ostriches and
tending his tree farm and fruit trees. He loved babies, puppies, WWF and Easter egg hunts. He also loved
reading to kids and baking on snowy afternoons. Pat was an amazing guy.
Pat is survived by his daughters: Sue (Dave) Betz, Culver and Connie (Chip) Hill, Prospect, KY, six
grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, godson Donnie (Cat) Raub, cousins Jim (Janice) and Joe (Debbie)
Reinhold and his beloved 4-legged partner in crime, Chaney the Wonder Dog, who will miss his warm lap and
leftovers.
A time of visitation will be held at the Odom Funeral Home, Culver, Sunday, Aug. 13, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Father Michael McKinney will officiate a Mass of Christian Burial Monday, Aug. 14, at 10 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Monterey, IN. Burial will follow at the St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice of wildlife organizations. Odom Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
