WARSAW — The third individual involved in the storage unit thefts earlier this summer has been arrested and booked in the Kosciusko County Jail.
Scotty Allen Poe, 18, with addresses of 504 W. Main St., Mentone, and 600 Oldfather St., Warsaw, was booked Thursday morning, Aug. 10, on an initial charge of burglary. His bond was set at $10,250 surety and cash. Frank McGuire and Jake Waddle were arrested on similar charges Wednesday, Aug. 9.
Court documents show Poe is facing charges of burglary, a level 5 felony, theft, a level 6 felony, and forgery a level 6 felony.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, break-ins to four storage units were reported to Warsaw Police Department and Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department. In one of those break-ins checks were stolen. Lake City Bank notified police when one of the checks was fraudulent cashed by Scotty Poe. Police also learned Poe had pawned some of the stolen items. It was through speaking with Poe, police learned of the involvement of McGuire, Jake Waddle and Ronald Bailey. A review of the surveillance camera at one of the storage units also assisted in identifying the suspects.
