Winners Of Pierceton Days Events Announced
PIERCETON — The annual Pierceton Days provided a weekend full of entertainment on Friday, Aug. 4 and Saturday, Aug. 5.
The pretty baby contest was a fan favorite. Penelope Eberly, daughter of Cole and Kaylee Eberly, won first place. Corbyn and Avery Evans, children of Michael and Alicia Evans, won second place. Bentley Briar, son of Patrick and Christa Briar, won third place.
The annual parade took place on Friday with the theme of Disney. The winners and their category included LexLil Contracting, commercial; Indiana Racing Lions, service club; Pierceton Elementary School, youth service; Jimmy Parks, parade float; Collier family, kiddie float; Wawasee Marching Band, marching band; Judy Newsome, novelty vehicle; Harvest Community Church, church; Espinoza Family, family; Tiny the Clown, clown; Seven’s Heaven Farm Gypsy Horses, horse; and Pierceton High School Alumni Class of 1968, miscellaneous.
The cutie contest was separated into three age groups. For 18 months to three years old, Brady Ackerman was named Cutie King and Cooper Pherigo was runner-up. Cora Ackerman was named Cutie Queen and Brystal Baker was runner-up. For four to six years old, Trinity Thomas was named Cutie Queen and Charlotte Ponder was runner-up. For seven to nine years old, Haddyn Reed was named Cutie King. Anna Hite was named Cutie Queen and Kylie Knight was runner-up.
Rita Elder won best in show for the car show while Rod Spurlin won people’s choice. Mike and Deb Music took home the award of committee favorite.
The top 20 cars included Crist and Cathy Blassaras, Dan Drabenstott, Phillip Smith, Mark Hollar, Brett Leach, Bob and Lisa Messer, Bob Barth, Paul Campbell, Ben Bradway, Bob O’Hara, Jeff and Missy Smith, Don Holland, Marvin Galbreath, Frank and Karna Earl, Bruce and Darla Bordner, Jerry Martin, Joe and Kim Brubaker, Kenny Elder, Tim Tilton and David Smith.
