Mary Nell Tincher
Mary Nell Tincher, passed away at Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth, Ill. on Monday, Aug. 7, 2017 at the age of 85. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Mary Nell was born on July 2, 1932 to George and Nellie Drew Walter in Watseka, Ill. She married Eugene Tincher on April 15, 1952 in Watseka, Ill.
Mary Nell had many jobs during her lifetime. She was a telephone operator, a wedding cake decorator, and a bookkeeper for her husband’s insulation business. She and her husband moved to Milford in 1988 and she was a bookkeeper for SPC Design & Printing in Syracuse. Her most rewarding job was that of a wife and mother to her five daughters. She and her husband retired in 1997. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and was an accomplished seamstress.
While living in Milford, they were active members of Grace Bible Baptist Church in New Paris. They developed lifelong friendships there that are now considered family.
Besides her husband of 65 years, she is survived by her five daughters: Jill (Dennis) Swan of Villa Grove, Ill.; Beth (Grant) Kroes of Syracuse; Jeanette (Charlie) Wesley of Watseka, Ill.; Carla (Larry) Barlow of Onarga, Ill.; and Bunny (Scott) Regnier of Bloomington, Ill. She had ten grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Charles (Barbara) Walter of Mishawaka.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Alice (Pat) Hutchison; and a half-brother Fred Walter.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, at the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka, Ill. Rev. Mike Gross will officiate. Burial will be at Iroquois Memorial Park in Watseka, Ill.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9, at the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka, Ill.
Memorials can be given in Mary Nell’s honor to the Grace Bible Baptist Church, 68080 Division St., New Paris, IN and Iroquois Memorial Hospice, 200 North Laird Lane, Watseka, IL 60970. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
