Gerald E. ‘Chris’ Chrisenberry
Gerald E. “Chris” Chrisenberry passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017 at the age of 83.
Born March 7, 1934 in Warsaw to Arnold B. and Wilma (Huffman) Chrisenberry. Chris honorably served his country in both the U.S. Army and Air Force. He went on to work in restaurant management where he managed several restaurants in the Lansing area including Bonanza and Ponderosa.
Most notably Chris was known for bringing Kentucky Fried Chicken to Lansing as well as co-owning and operating the Famous Recipe restaurant in Lansing. He also worked construction in the Lansing area for over 20 years.
In his spare time Chris enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He was known as a hardworking man who kept himself busy and was always on the move.
Preceding him in death were his wife of 60 years, Janette Chrisenberry; brother, Danny Chrisenberry and his parents.
Surviving are his son, Mark Chrisenberry; daughter, Diana (Justin) Terry; grandchildren, Chandler Terry, Jordan Terry, Mikayla Terry; sisters, Verla Belle Bidwell, Vivian Owens; sister-in-law, Mary Chrisenberry as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Trinity Church in Lansing. Family will receive friends for visitation from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday at Skinner Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel.
