George Plew, Jr.
George Plew, Jr., 93, Warsaw, passed away at 7:45 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2017, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born on March 31, 1924 to George and Maisie (Fike) Plew in Claypool.
He was a US Army veteran faithfully serving from 1943 to 1946 as a Tec 5 in the European Theater during WW II. He was united in marriage on June 14, 1948 to Elizabeth Robinson in Warsaw. He has been a lifetime resident of Warsaw.
George was the 8 grade Industrial Arts (Shop) teacher at Warsaw Middle School until his retirement in 1990. He began his teaching career in 1950 with North Webster Schools after graduating from Purdue University. He attended Warsaw First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Retired Teacher’s Association.
George is survived by his sister and brother in law, Vere (Ruth) Shenefield, Warsaw and a sister-in-law Elanor Gill of San Jose, CA. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth on April 16, 2014.
Graveside services held at 10 a.m. Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Monday, Aug. 7, with Pastor Mark Need officiating. Services are entrusted to McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
