Charles A. ‘Charly’ Richard
Charles A. “Charly” Richard, 57, of Rochester, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of Plymouth.
On May 21, 1960, Charles Arthur Richard was born in Rochester. He was a treasured son of Joseph Jacob and Ellen Reinholt Richard. Growing up he shared his childhood with seven brothers, including his twin brother Carly, and four sisters.
In Atlanta, Ga., on March 17, 1988, Charly married the love of his life Tamera “Tammy” Lee Reed were married. They shared 29 years of life’s adventures.
As a young man, Charly developed a strong work ethic, growing up on the family dairy farm. His love for agriculture and dedication for the dairy herd was a life-long passion. He later developed an interest in concrete work. Charly was talented as an artist, expressing creative thought with pencil and paper. He drew still life, animals and landscapes.
Left to cherish Charly’s memory are his wife Tammy; three children: step daughters Kaara Walker and companion Tyler Sennert of Knox, Amber Walker of Logansport, and a son Mitchell Richard of South Carolina; 8 grandchildren; 10 siblings: Frank Keitzer and wife Yvonne of Rochester, Mary Rockenbaugh and husband Jim of Rochester, Ted Richard and wife Lynda of Rochester, Rita Jenkins and husband Jim of Rochester, Hugh Richard and wife Vicky of Rochester, Joe Richard of Rochester, Mark Richard and wife Kristy of Holiday, Fla., Ruth Gunter and husband Dwight of Rochester, Ed Richard and wife Amy of Avon, and Jane VanMeter and husband Kyle of Rochester; mother-in-law Rosalie “Lee” Reed of Walton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Charly in death are his parents, his twin brother Carl “Carly” Andrew Richard on April 9, 2016, an infant brother James Richard, a step son Brandon Walker, a sister-in-law Carla Richard, and a niece Tracy Lee Ann Richard.
Rev. Curtis May will officiate services. He will be laid to rest next to his twin brother, Carly, in the Richland Center IOOF Cemetery.
