Kosciusko Sheriff’s Department Announces Promotions
WARSAW — Kosciusko County Sheriff Rocky Goshert has announced the promotion and movement of three officers within the sheriff’s department.
Shane Bucher has been promoted to the position of Detective Sergeant by Goshert. Bucher began his law enforcement career with the Milford Police Department in 2002. Bucher was hired as a merit road deputy in 2005. Bucher is a 2004 graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. Bucher is a certified Drug Recognition Expert officer, as well as a taser instructor for the department. Bucher has also been a certified diver with the Kosciusko County Dive Team since 2007, assisting with rescue and recovery of individuals and property among the 104 lakes within Kosciusko County.
Mike Mulligan has been promoted to the position of Lieutenant, Jail Commander, by Goshert. Mulligan began his law enforcement career with the Wabash City Police Department in 2000. Mulligan was hired as a merit road deputy in 2003, and promoted to a Corporal, and then a first shift Sergeant. Mulligan is a 2000 graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, as well as a reconstructionist with the Kosciusko County Fatal Team.
Don Wiesehan has been selected as the new commander of the Road Division by Goshert. Wiesehan began his law enforcement career with the Winona Lake Police Department in 1992. Wiesehan was hired as a merit road deputy in 1995, and promoted to Corporal, Sergeant, and then Lieutenant, overseeing the Jail Division as the Jail Commander in 2012. Wiesehan is a 1995 graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, and has an extensive background in firearms, tactical training, and less-than lethal/chemical deployment. He is also the current commander for the Kosciusko Count S.W.A.T. and Dive Team.
Sheriff Goshert stated that “all three officers have outstanding records of service, leadership, and professionalism that will provide exceptional law enforcement decision and service to the Kosciusko County community.”
