Robert David Wayman
Robert “Bob” David Wayman, 53, Winona Lake, went to be with our Lord in the early morning hours on Wednesday, July 12, 2017.
Bob was born on Aug. 13, 1963 in Hammond to the late Eugene Frank Wayman and Claudia Carrie (Thornton) Wayman, who survives in Valparaiso.
He graduated from Hobart High School in 1981, and attended Purdue University. He was a resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana for the past 22 years. Bob initially worked in construction and later on he worked as a structural engineer and construction project manager. Subsequently, he was an entrepreneur, developer, and most recently owned a surveying instrument business, Midwest Construction Equipment, in Warsaw for the past eleven years.
Bob was an avid collector of many types of memorabilia, including coins and antique surveying instruments. He enjoyed playing golf, biking, white water rafting, and skiing. He was generous and always put others first, and would help anyone in need. He was very family oriented and a committed father. He had a captivating personality and was known for his endless jokes and sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Wayman, Fort Wayne; and his mother, Claudia Carrie Wayman, Valparaiso; he also leaves behind three brothers: Michael Edwin (wife Jodi) Wayman; David Richard (wife Cookie) Wayman; Thomas Eugene (wife Janet) Wayman; four sisters: Patricia Jane (husband Michael) Pender; Michele Elaine (husband Jeff) Robertson; Christine Marie (husband Ron) Hefner; Jacquelyn Mary (husband Scott Anthony “Tony”) Kalin. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Frank Wayman, and two brothers, Eugene Michael Wayman, and James Robert Wayman.
A private family memorial service will be held on Monday, July 17 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw and officiated by Reverend Tom Roy.
