Eugene England
Eugene England, 82, Silver Lake, passed away at 4:09 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in his residence.
On Aug. 22, 1934, he was born in Floyd County, Ky. to Jacob and Georgia (Whitaker) England. He was united in marriage to Nancy Kay Waite on Jan. 2, 1986 in Silver Lake, who survives.
Living most of his life in Kosciusko County, Eugene was a graduate of Claypool High School, Class of 1952. He then graduated from Manchester College in 1956 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and he also graduated from Ball State University, Muncie in 1963 with a Master’s Degree in Education.
In 1962, Eugene became a elementary teacher and principal for Warsaw Community Schools, primarily Silver Lake and Claypool Elementary Schools, where he retired after thirty five years of service.. He also served on the Warsaw School Board for eight years. Eugene was a member of Manchester College and Alumni Association, Indiana State Retired Teachers Association, and Warsaw Retired Teachers Association.
He is survived by his wife of thirty one years, Nancy Kay England, Silver Lake; his former spouse and mother of his children, Sue England, Warsaw; one son, Dennis England, Warsaw; three step children, Tim Baker, Tina Sullivan and Tony Baker; one brother, Oliver England, Claypool; one sister, Evelyn (England) Falkiner, Warsaw; five grandchildren, five step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. Eugene was preceded in death by two daughters, Cindy K. Maddox, Vicki S. Shanley and one son, Kim England
A funeral service will be privately held on Saturday. July 15, 2017 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Glenn Hall officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Visitation hours will be from 4–8 p.m. on Friday, July 14 at the funeral chapel.
