North Webster Man Arrested For Burglarizing Residence, Stealing ATV
NORTH WEBSTER — A North Webster man has been arrested for burglarizing a residence and stealing an ATV, cash and a gas can. The man had previously been convicted of theft and had an active warrant for counterfeiting.
Dylan Bryce Eldridge, 19, 420 W. Crystal Flash Road, North Webster, is being charged with burglary, a level 4 felony and theft, an enhanced level 6 felony.
Around 3:30 a.m. on June 19, an officer with the North Webster Police Department observed a black ATV with no headlights traveling north on Harrison Street. The officer activated his emergency lights and the ATV fled. The ATV was discovered without a driver and the officer took possession of it.
On June 24, the officer spoke with a male who advised he left for vacation on June 15. When he returned from vacation on June 24 he discovered his residence had been burglarized. The burglar had entered the residence through a bedroom window and stole $200, a black ATV and a three gallon gas can. The officer was able to verify that the ATV that had fled on June 19 was the same one stolen from the residence.
The homeowners heard that someone observed Eldridge driving their ATV in the woods behind the residence. The homeowners know Eldridge and believed him to have stolen the items. Eldridge had been previously told not to be in the residence.
Eldridge was previously convicted on theft on Dec. 28, 2015 and had an active warrant for counterfeiting. Both cases also occurred in Kosciusko County.
Eldridge was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on July 10 with a $21,000 bond for the burglary charge and an $11,000 bond for the counterfeiting charge.
