Linda Sue Tincher
Linda Sue Tincher, 65, of rural Roanoke, Whitley County, passed away quietly surrounded by her loving family at 9:55 a.m. Sunday, July 9, 2017. She had been in declining health.
She was born July 18, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio a daughter of the late Raymond H. Baetzold and Grace L. Beldon. A foster child, she grew up with the Priebie family in Elyria, Ohio where she graduated from Elyria High School in 1969. She then attended Grace College in Winnoa Lake.
On May 5, 1973 she was united in marriage to Steven R. Tincher. They have always made their home in rural Columbia City.
She was a full-time homemaker until she raised the couple’s five children. Then she entered the workforce as a pharmacy technician with CVS, Columbia City.
A talented seamstress, she made custom wedding gowns. She also enjoyed painting landscapes on canvas and old milk pales. Always active in her area of the county, she published a weekly column “Linda’s Neighbors” in the Four Corners Courier – Roanoke. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband and family. She was a member of Emmanuel Community Church, Fort Wayne.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Steven; a daughter, Jennifer E. Tincher, Edmonds, Okla.; sons, Jeremy S. (Chelsea) Tincher, Columbia City, Jacob J. (Lindsay) Tincher, Kendallville, Joshua D. (Brenda) Tincher, Fort Wayne, and Jordan M. Tincher, Columbia City; 20 grandchildren; a sister, Martha (Jerry) Caskey, Terre Haute and a brother, Donald Baetzold, Terra Haute.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in the South Park Annex Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
