Paul Lee Dean Price
Paul Lee Dean Price, 81, of Columbia City, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Monday, July 3, 2017 at his home. A man of faith, he attended the Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall.
He was born November 18, 1935 in Fort Wayne, Indiana a son of the late Arthur and Marjorie May (Fink) Price. He grew up in Harlan on his aunt’s farm. In his teens, he lived in Fort Wayne where he graduated from Central High School in 1957.
On July 21, 1958 he was inducted into the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged. Upon his return, he lived in Waynedale, Huntington and in 1983 he moved to Columbia City.
Most of his work career was with Majestic Company, Huntington where he had 27 years of service retiring in 1998. He also worked as a marble refinisher and handyman.
On October 26, 1984 he married the love of his life, Nina I. (Burelison) Rothgeb. They made their home in Columbia City. He gained three step-children.
From a small child he was an avid Boston Red Socks and Komet Hockey fan. Paul created a favorite family tradition of taking his grandchildren to Mr. Coney and a Komet Hockey game every year.
Paul joins his parents; sister, Marilyn Voorhies; step-sons, Raymond and Dale Rothgeb; and great grandson, Eli in death.
Surviving is his wife, Nina; two children, Sheri R. (Rick) Youngman, Indianapolis and Ryan E. (Kathy) Price, Fla.; two step-children, Eugene Rothgeb, Warsaw, and Janice Morgan, South Whitley; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall, 500 N Oak St, Columbia City, IN.
Arrangements are by Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
