Kosciusko County Community Fair To Host Pie Contest
WARSAW — Members of the public who have a knack for baking might want to break out those rolling pins and enter the 2017 pie baking contest at the Kosciusko County Community Fair.
All entry forms, pies and recipes must be submitted by noon Wednesday, July 12, at the fair office. There can only be one entry per person per category.
The categories include fruit, nut, cream, custard and other.
The entries must be pies. Cobblers, tarts and crisps will not be accepted. Store bought pastry shells or fillings are not allowed.
Contestants must print their name, address and phone number on the back of a white lined index card with the recipes for the pie and crust on the front.
Any entries that need to be refrigerated must have specification on the recipe. These entries will not be sold or distributed after judging.
All pies become property of the Kosciusko County Community Fair and contestants agree to have their photos and recipes published without compensation.
The judging will begin at 3 p.m. and judges will pay close attention to the taste, crust, appearance and creativity of each entry.
Ribbons will be awarded based on the judges’ decisions.
