Warsaw Man Arrested For Stalking Victim Within Hours Of Being Released From Jail
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested for stalking within hours of being released from jail for criminal trespass against the same victim.
Christopher Lee Dean, 26, 641 Walter Way, Warsaw, is being charged with stalking, a level 5 felony and invasion of privacy, a class A misdemeanor.
On Jan. 20, Dean was convicted of identity deception and criminal trespass. He had been sending a victim threatening text messages and hid himself in the woods behind her house. The victim had a protective order against Dean.
On April 23, Dean was released from custody of the Kosciusko County Jail. That same day, an officer responded to a violation of a protective order against the victim. Dean was observed by multiple people near the mailbox of the victim’s house.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the officer located Dean walking near the residence. Dean admitted to walking by the victim’s residence and was aware that the victim had a protective order against him.
The victim provided the officer with text messages from Dean. In the text messages, Dean talks about having a protective order but still wanting to talk to and meet with the victim. The victim also received text messages from Dean on April 24, which was after the officer had spoken with dean.
Dean was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on June 30 with a $20,250 surety and cash bond.
