Tippecanoe Valley FFA Competes At State Champions
AKRON — Thirteen Tippecanoe Valley FFA members attended the State FFA Convention June 20 – 22 at Purdue University. Members competed in different competitions, attended awards sessions, participated in the state chorus and leadership workshops and spent hours helping with community service projects.
Seven FFA members competed in the State Ag Business Management Contest where they were State Champions. The winning Team was comprised of Dylan Wood, Jack Utter, Sarah Tucker and Hannah Jansma. This advances them to compete in the National Contest at the National Convention in Indianapolis in October.
The other team also had a good day competing and was Hannah Gibbons, Sierra Marshall and Cora Alber. Sarah Tucker and Hannah Jansma also competed in the State Ag Business Demonstration by winning the District II completion back in March. Rolanda Reichard participated in the State Chorus which performed at many of the sessions.
Other students not competing spent many hours helping make prayer shawl blankets for many of our children’s hospitals here in the state, including Riley’s Children Hospital and Peyton Manning’s Children’s Hospital. Cora Alber and Hannah Gibbons also served as delegates voting on official business and our newly elected District II & State FFA Officers. The Tippecanoe Valley FFA Advisor is Michael Jones.
