Hughes Sentenced On Narcotic Charge
WARSAW — Danielle M. Hughes, Warsaw, was sentenced in Kosciusko Circuit Court on one count of dealing a narcotic drug, a level 5 felony.
Hughes was one of 14 people served drug warrants on Oct. 14, 2016.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Hughes was arrested after meeting with an individual at Beyer Park to sell .3 grams of heroin.
During the sentencing, Hughes stated the whole situation had been a learning experience for her. Hughes was adamant she would stay clean and would not deal drugs again.
“I will never, ever do that again,” said Hughes.
Hughes’ attorney, Christopher Kehler, said Hughes has remained drug free and has maintained consistent employment.
Judge Michael Reed sentenced Hughes to serve two years at the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and suspended one year. Reed said he had no objection to Hughes serving the two years on work release.
