Genevieve Ileene Stafford
Genevieve Ileene Stafford, 88, Warsaw, died at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017 in her Warsaw home.
Genevieve was born to Jacob and Hazel (Hicks) Rockey on Nov. 19, 1929. She was born in Warsaw, spending most of her lifetime there. On April 13, 1954, she was married to the late Roland W. Stafford, Sr.
Genevieve had worked for Miller’s Merry Manor, Cardinal Center, and Candy Kitchen before retiring from K-Mart in January of 1998. She had dedicated 16 years there before retiring. She was also active with the Salvation Army’s League of Mercy for some time.
Those left to cherish her memory include son, Roland W. (Carolyn) Stafford, Jr. of Warsaw and four daughters: Jeanette Davis of Muncie, Mary Ellen (Ricky) Daniels of Warsaw, Virginia Stafford of Warsaw and Tricia Rhoades of Douglasville, Texas. She is also survived by a sister, Betty Ann McFarren of Winona Lake.
In addition to her husband, Roland, who passed on Aug. 8, 1979, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ann McFarren; brother, Junior Rockey; grandson, Steven Daniels and great-granddaughter, Karla Villa.
Friends may gather in support of her family from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 28 at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 29 at 10:30 in the Funeral Home. Bishop James Barber, retired will be officiating the services with burial at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Those wishing to express their sympathy are encouraged to donate to a charity, alternately simple acts of kindness may be done for others.
