Larry Joe Bucks
Larry Joe Bucks, 78, Rochester, formerly of Kewanna, passed away at 5:58 p.m. on June 14, 2017 at his residence.
He was born on March 22, 1939 in Winamac, the son of Joseph E. and Mable P. (Miller) Yoder Bucks. On Dec. 6, 1969, at the Kewanna Methodist Church, he married Patricia Boissier, and she survives.
Larry graduated from Grass Creek High School and began his working career at International Harvester, Kewanna, Indiana. For the next 50 years, he worked as a long haul truck driver after beginning his career with Navajo Trucking. After retirement, Larry enjoyed working in the Maintenance Department of Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, Indiana.
He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Rochester, and a member of the Fulton Masonic Lodge, Fulton, Indiana.
In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, attending auctions, loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed the companionship of his three dogs, Cooper, Clayton, and Muffy.
He is survived by his wife, Pat, Rochester, children, Kathy and husband Raymond Franko, Winamac, Chris and wife Kim Schramm, Winamac, Laura and husband J.T. Mays, Winamac, Susie and husband Jim Downhour, Rochester, 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Jerad A. Mays, sister, “Sis” and her husband Forrest Baker, and brother, Bill and wife Henrietta Yoder.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, June 16, at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic Service at 6 p.m. on Friday. Burial will be at Kewanna Citizens IOOF Cemetery, Kewanna.
