Warsaw Library Hosts Stories In The Park Program
WARSAW — Every Monday from 11 to 11:30 a.m. during the month of June, Warsaw Community Public Library will be offering Stories in the Park at Central Park, Warsaw. This will include stories, songs and rhymes with special guest readers.
No registration or library card is required in order to attend this free program, which is held at the picnic area near the Central Park office. It is suggested that attendees bring outdoor blankets or lawn chairs. In case of rain, go to Meeting Room C at the Warsaw Community Public Library.
On Monday, June 12, the special guest reader was Penny Kitson, Warsaw. Kitson, a former first and second grade teacher, is retired from the Southeastern School Corporation in Cass County. Kitson read the book “A Frog in the Bog” by Karma Wilson. The book, about a frog sitting on a log eating various types of bugs, prompted one child to raise his hand and ask, “Is the frog going to get fat?”
For those who are interested in lunch following the Stories in the Park program, it’s a short walk over to Center Lake Bixler Park where Warsaw Community Schools is offering free summer meals. The Summer Food Service Program provides no-cost lunches for kids and teens ages 1 through 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
