Wonderfully Made To Hold Awareness Walk
SYRACUSE — Wonderfully Made is holding an awareness walk Saturday, July 15, in honor of those who suffer from Turner syndrome or any chromosomal disorder or rare disease. The event will be held at the Harold Schrock Athletic Complex, 900 W. Brooklyn St., Syracuse.
The walk is being held as a way to raise awareness, teach others, support others and for those who are suffering from such diseases to find support. It is a way to show others how there is beauty in being uniquely and wonderfully made.
The awareness walk is from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The walk will be followed by a presentation on rare diseases and chromosomal disorders. Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is included with registration. Picnic blankets or lawn chairs are recommended. Family and community activities follow lunch until 3:30 p.m. This includes music with ribbon, beach ball and bubble fun for children, face painting, bounce houses, volleyball, badminton, bracelet beading to aid in better understanding chromosomes and baseball and football fields open for use, though sports equipment is not provided.
For children age 6 and older, registration is $10. Registration is $15 for adults.
