Storm Causes Major Damage In Silver Lake
SILVER LAKE — A strong thunderstorm producing high winds swept through Silver Lake around 11 p.m. last night, May 26. Most of the severe damage was in the area of West CR 950S.
Homeowners this morning were shaken up, but no injuries were reported. Many residents received no warning of the quick line of storms and were forced to shelter in bathtubs and crawlspaces. Many of the homes were farms and as of 10 a.m., two cows were unaccounted for.
The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana said they were aware of the storm damage and had surveyor’s looking into the area to properly classify the storms.
