Bethany Softball Claims Sectional Semi Win
GOSHEN – Believe it or not, there was a softball sectional game played Wednesday night.
Host Bethany Christian earned a 7-3 win over Elkhart Christian in a semifinal matchup of their own Class 1-A tournament despite the heavy rains in the area that postponed pretty much every other state tournament game Wednesday evening.
The duo of Kassy Miller and Andrea Yousey led the way for the Bruins in the win. Miller set a school record by stealing her 25th and 26th bases of the season. Yousey picked up the pitching win with a complete-game performance.
Megan Duckworth drove in a pair of runs for Bethany. Bailey Hanton and Brooke Reinhardt each had two hits for the Bruins, including a double by Hanton.
Bethany will face Lakewood Park tonight in the championship game at 5:30 p.m.
