North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following incident:
- 3:11 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 300 block of Crystal Flash Road, North Webster. Naomi Lynn Gaff reported a theft.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following incidents:
- 6:37 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2500 block of Walton Blvd., Warsaw. Employees at Walmart reported theft of clothing, office equipment and power and hand tools.
- 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 1700 block of West Center Street, Warsaw. Zimmer Biomet reported criminal mischief at building 4.
Marshall
Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following incidents:
2:05 a.m. Sunday, May 21, 100 block US 30 and Apple Road, Bourbon. Marshall County Sheriff’s Officer A.J. Wozniak noticed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Based on the stationary radar, the speed was locked in at 92 mph. The vehicle was stopped a short distance away and the driver, Lakayla Knight, 24, Chicago, Ill., was found to be operating a vehicle while intoxicated and refused a certified test. She later tested over the legal limit. A female passenger, Tanae Ward, 25, Chicago, Ill., was transported by another officer to a truck stop to wait for a ride. While en route, Ward was yelling and causing a scene in the vehicle. She also began kicking the inside of the officer’s aged backseat and refused to exit the vehicle, continuing to cause a problem and was belligerent. She was taken into custody for public intoxication and taken to the jail.
5:36 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 100 block US 30 and Queen Road, Plymouth. Marshall County Sheriff’s Patrolman J.D. Bryant attempted to stop Timothy Applegate, 35, New Carlisle, for an outstanding warrant near the intersection of US 30 and Redwood Road. A high speed pursuit ensued, lasting over 14 minutes and entering St. Joseph County. Several times speeds reached over 100 mph. Applegate’s vehicle eventually broke down and a foot pursuit ensued. Bryant was able to chase down Applegate and take him into custody. The warrants were a felony warrant out of St. Joseph County, a misdemeanor warrant out of Marshall and operating on a suspended-prior license. A new charge of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, a felony and several misdemeanor charges. He has a $10,000 cash bond on the new offenses. Marshall County Sheriff’s officers were assisted by numerous agencies, including Walkerton and Lakeville police, St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police.
7:36 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2500 block North Michigan Street, Plymouth. Police received a 911 call regarding an unresponsive male at RedRock Inn. Patrolman J.D. Brant responded to the room, located the male and administered Narcan. During the investigation, narcotics were located in the room with four people being arrested. Arrested were: Christopher Fields, 43, North Judson, and James Bailey, 27, Plymouth, both charged with dealing in a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a narcotic drug and visiting a common nuisance with bonds set at $20,000 each; and Steven Cogswell, 23, Plymouth, and Jacqueline Poull, 25, Plymouth, each arrested for maintaining a common nuisance with bonds of $3,000 each.
