Amos Edward England
Amos Edward England, Pierceton, passed away at his residence surrounded by family at 2:09 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the age of 80.
He was born on Feb. 11, 1937 in Prestonsburg, Ky., he was the seventh out of eight children born to Nancy (Reffitt) and Charlie England. On May 16, 1959 he married Phyllis Kay Ross, his loving and caring wife of 58 years, who survives in Pierceton.
Amos was a 1955 graduate of Warsaw High School in Warsaw, Indiana. He was a hard worker and for 17 years he worked for Fiber Fill in Warsaw, and when the company moved to Evansville, Indiana he continued to work there as a shipping supervisor. He worked for Jomac Products in Warsaw for 27 years working in the warehouse as a shipping clerk and driving semi. Amos was a member of the Church of Christ, loved racing go-carts, bowling, fishing, numismatics, going to auctions, and was a lover of nature and wildlife. He was loved dearly by his family and will be missed.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Phyllis Kay England, Pierceton; and their five children. Three daughters: Cindy (husband Dyle) Martin, Warsaw; Dawn (husband Keith) McClellan, Rochester; Amy (husband James) Fuller, Atwood; and two sons: Brian England and his fiancée Donna Shapiro, Lancaster, Penn.; David (wife Nancy) England, Warsaw. Also surviving are twenty-two grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Benny and Charles England, five sisters: Lucy Biltz, Lura Hamman, Marie Mikesell, Jean O’Connell, and Jane Kintzel.
Visitation will be held from 2– 5 p.m. on Friday, May 26 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. His funeral service will be conducted immediately following visitation at 5 p.m. and officiated by Pastor Glenn Hall. Private burial will follow at a later date at Mud Creek Church of Christ Cemetery in Macy.
