Blackthorn To Host Four Winds Invite
SOUTH BEND – The Blackthorn Golf Club will play host to the Four Winds Invitational June 9-11.
The event is part of the LPGA’s Symetra Tour, which brings together female golfers from over 30 countries. The top 10 money winners on the tour at the end of each year advance to become members of the national LPGA Tour.
Admission to the tournament is free for this year’s sixth annual event.
There will also be several events for fans, starting with the third annual Daddy-Daughter Pro Am on June 8. That event gives fathers a chance to play a round of golf with their daughters, along with a member of the Symetra Tour in a 9-hole scramble. Cost is $100 for a father-daughter team, with proceeds going to Beacon Children’s Hospital in South Bend.
There will also be a Ladies Golf 101 Clinic sponsored by the Kelly Cares Foundation. The event features instruction from LPGA pros and a practice, along with a Q&A with a LPGA Symetra player. Cost is $40.
On the final day of the event, there will be a 5K run and fitness walk at Blackthorn. The run begins at 7:30 a.m., while the walk is set to start at 7:35.
